Senior Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah took to his social media to drop a hint that he might be returning to the field soon. The 29-year-old underwent successful back surgery in New Zealand in March and has since been undergoing rehabilitation. Team India's pace spearhead was frequently in the news for being injured and missing multiple competitions as a result.

Bumrah last played for India in September 2022. The right-arm pacer has already missed the 2022 20-20 World Cup and is set to miss the forthcoming Test Championship final against Australia, which is scheduled to begin on June 7 at The Oval in London. With the 2023 ODI World Cup coming up later this year, the Indian Cricket Board would be eager to get Bumrah back in action.

He was named in the home series against Sri Lanka to make a comeback but was ruled out as he failed to fully recover from his back injury. There were reports of his return this season ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, but he was ruled out for the entire tournament as the management was unwilling to risk him.

However, on Saturday, Bumrah posted a picture of his bowling spikes on Instagram and captioned the post, "Hello friend, we meet again," and fans are hopeful that he will be back soon.

Shreyas Iyer was also injured and according to reports, he will be out of cricket action for at least five months.

Recently, KL Rahul also have been ruled out of the mega clash due to an injury he picked up during the IPL 2023. India will miss four of their star players when they lock horns with the Aussies in June for the final of the Test Championship.
