India batter Robin Uthappa has backed Virat Kohli for his match-winning abilities. The former said that the latter had played some stunning knocks over the past. In an interview with “CricChat powered by Parimatch”, Uthappa said that the star India batter, Virat Kohli’s form can go up again.

He said that it’s a part and parcel of every player’s life. Uthappa argued that one has no right to even question his place in the Indian team, while stating that he deserves backing.

“We have neither the authority nor any ground to question his position or his capacity to win games,” Uthappa said. Virat Kohli has been going through a phase that has put him in the mud. The batter who once rocked the world is currently struggling to get the best out of him. Though it is understood that he will eventually come out of it, the question of many is “when?”.

However, the star India batter has received a lot of patting over the past few weeks. A notable one was former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting. And now, Uthappa has joined the list as well. He had backed Virat Kohli and assured the fans of his comeback.

“He’s (Kohli) a match winner and a proven one of the best in the world," Uthappa added.

Even the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma took a brave stand and had been backing Kohli in press conferences. Kohli is still among the runs but the standard that he had set for himself is way too high. Kohli is one of the fabulous four in cricket. However, it has changed over recent times.

Kohli has been given a break from the West Indies series. It remains to be seen if the batter can make a comeback soon. Fans do believe that once he is out of this mud, he’ll be unstoppable.
