He said that aggression was his natural thing and it had helped him get the best out of him. “I have had this natural aggression for me. You know that’s what worked very well for me. He said that he had improved a lot over the past 5 to 6 years and would look to continue the same. Sathiyan added that being aggressive was always his “goal”.

“Yes, in the last decade, I would say, the progression has been there moving towards that goal and being a counter-attacking player certainly helped me. I had some big wins,” Sathiyan added.

Sathiyan said that Commonwealth Games was a “different kind of a challenge” and India comes out as favourites all the time.

“It’s (CWG) always a different kind of a challenge. Commonwealth games is quite different where we are the favorites,” Sathiyan said. On being asked about the Olympic crash out, the star replied positively. He said that he backed himself and is a player who always makes a strong comeback.

“It was my first Olympics. I did play well. But I lost out in the deciders. A lot of learnings. I have always been a player who has comeback strongly from close and disappointing defeats,” Sathiyan said. Sathiyan also thanked his coach Raman for guiding him. He added in his interview with NDTV that the experience he has gained over the years will definitely help him.

Sathiyan said that it has been great playing with Manika Batra and added that it was “fun” playing with her. Sathiyan added that he would wish to keep up the good form.
