Rishabh Pant is one name that pops up in everyone's mind when they hear the word 'unorthodox'. But his 'unorthodox' way of playing is what has made him a youngster to bank on for the future. The aggressive wicket-keeper made his Test debut on this day against England in 2018. And since then, it has been only an upward journey for the wicket-keeper in Test format.

The youngster has a Test century in South Africa, England and Australia. Scoring a Test century each in all three countries is a dream for most aspiring cricketers. Pant had an impressive stint in the U-19 World Cup in the year 2016. The Roorkee-born has been exceptional in Test format. The selectors did pick him in the white-ball format initially but the batter's knocks in Test cricket helped him fetch more success in Tests than the other two formats.

Rishabh Pant scored his first ever Test century in the same series he made his debut. The wicket-keeper scored a massive 114 off 146 balls, comprising of 15 fours and four sixes at The Oval. He scored a massive 159 off 189 balls at the iconic Sydney ground in the 2019 Australia tour. His third Test century came against England in Ahmedabad in 2021.

Pant registered his fourth Test century earlier this year at Cape Town against South Africa. The 25-year-old recently scored his fifth Test century against England at Birmingham. The fifth Test ton turned out to be an iconic one as it came off just 111 balls, comprising 19 fours and four sixes. Amidst all this, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar also breached the Gabba fortress after 32 years during 2020/21 Tour of Australia. He averages 43.32 in Test cricket with 2123 runs under his belt.

Rishabh Pant's rise as a wicket-keeper:

Rishabh Pant has had his own share of pity days. One of the most harshest phase of his life came during his initial days when people chanted Dhoni's name as and when he dropped catches. The southpaw would just give a smile then and make a move on.

However, he has grown in stature as a wicketkeeper and has been extremely impressive in the recent past and has taken some stunning catches too. Here's how his fans are celebrating his four-year Test journey on Twitter:
