Rishabh Pant is one of those cricketers who always remain in the limelight. He has a brilliant record in Test Cricket but has received severe criticism for not performing in white-ball cricket. With the T20 World Cup 2022 coming in a few months, critics have backed Dinesh Karthik to replace Rishabh Pant in the playing XI.

And the Delhi-based batter has now commented on the competition with Dinesh Karthik. Karthik earned his national call-up after his fantastic display for the Bangalore team in the Indian T20 League.

The Tamil Nadu-based wicketkeeper has, however, failed to emulate the same in the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies. In the five innings that he played, the 37-year-old managed to amass only 66 runs off the five innings that he played. Whereas Pant managed amassed 115 runs off the four innings that he played for India.

With Hardik Pandya showing exceptional bowing skills, it is quite evident that one of them alone will get a nod. When asked about the competition with his senior, the Delhi-based wicketkeeper said that they don't think about those lines.

"We don't think about those lines. We as individuals always want to give our 100 percent to the team. The rest depends on the captain and coach and how the team could get an advantage from that," Rishabh Pant was quoted as saying by Zee Hindustan.

The Delhi-based batter has amassed a total of 883 runs for India in the 44 T20Is he has played. However, it is his average that remains a question mark for many. He has an average of 23 in the format and many are skeptical about the same. His senior, the 37-year-old, has been finishing matches consistently for India except for the T20I series against the Caribbean.

One of them will be given a chance to prove themselves. It is quite evident that one person who makes the most out of his chance will survive. It is a survival of the fittest but a healthy headache for Indian team management. So far, the management has kept the suspense over their selection in the playing XI.
