A shocking incident occurred during an FA Cup clash between Chelsea and Leeds when a Leeds fan accidentally fell from the upper tier down to the bottom stand between thousands of fans. It all happened during the eighth minute of the game when Mateo Joseph’s opening goal against Chelsea sparked widespread jubilation among the Leeds fans in the Shed End where the majority of them were located.

Amidst the wild scenes, one of the Leed’s supporters at the top tier fell down while celebrating. The fatal accident that unfolded horrified the fans present on the ground. However, in no time the medics reached the site of the accident and began treating the fan. The match kept going on as the medics were giving the fan, first hand treatment and soon he was taken to the hospital in the ambulance.
The police also arrived at the scene and carried on with the formalities. After the treatment from the doctors of the clubs, the fan was taken to the London Trauma Center and his family members were informed about the incident. The fans from Yorkshire had arrived in huge numbers to witness the rivalry between Chelsea and Leeds.
Chelsea put on a clinical show against Leeds
In an official statement, Chelsea FC confirmed the incident saying, “Chelsea FC can confirm an incident involving a Leeds United supporter occurred in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge during the first half of tonight’s FA Cup game. The incident is being invested and is in the hands of the emergency services.”
In regards to the match, Chelsea secured a 3-2 victory over Leeds United, earning themselves a spot in the quarter-finals against Leicester City. Leeds' Mateo Joseph stood out as the team's standout performer, netting both goals for his side in the eighth and 59th minute. Meanwhile, Chelsea FC's goals were scored by Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Conor Gallagher in the 15th, 37th, and 90th minutes respectively.
