The Laliga features some great teams that have been one of the best in Europe as well. The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have been the leading men in the league with their trophy cabinet being as large as any other team. The one extremely underrated team though is Atletico Madrid. The Team might have not been European champions, but have still given us some great performances in the LalIga and have been Spanish champions on 11 occasions as well. They have had some great seasons in the La Liga and hardly fail to make it in the top four. They are one of the best underdog teams in the Uefa Champions League as well where they have made it to finals in the past as well.

There have been some top players in this club as well who have been one of the best in the world as well. Players such as Antoine Griezzmann, Jan Oblak, Diego Godin and Azpilicueta are some of the names that have been associated in the best days of the club. There is no doubt that the club still has a rich history which has lasted a long time throughout the club's tenure in the league. Diego Simone and his men have beaten some of the top-ranked teams in the past and are currently second in the league right now.

Atletico beat Real Madrid

When Atletico Madrid was playing against the mighty Real Madrid team most people expected Real to win this encounter. This is one of the best round-of-16 games you are ever going to get in the Copa Del Rey. The opening goal was scored by Samuel Lino in the 39th minute and the Brazilian got past the keeper to score the first goal of the game. Real came back into the game due to an own goal by Oblak just before halftime, but that was short-lived as out of nowhere Alvaro Morata tapped in a goal in the 57th minute.

However, Real Madrid was still not ready to give up as Joselu converted a fantastic cross from Jude Bellingham to level the scoreline 2-2. The match going into extra time was suggesting a draw that could go to penalties, but strikes from Griezmann and Rodrigo Riquelme made sure that the game would be won 4-2 by Atletico and they made it to the quarter-finals. This was a game no one saw coming where the former European champions would lose under pressure and give away the game at the last minute of extra time.
