FIFA World Cup 2022: Team of the Tournament

FIFA Football World Cup 2022 has been a wonderful event so far. The game of football has been of the highest quality. The tournament has been one where a lot of upsets have happened. The fans in Qatar have been treated to some beautiful games of football at their stadiums.

Now, we will look into the Team of the Tournament. The Team will be coached by Walid Regragui of Morocco, who became the first African nation to get to the FIFA World Cup semi-final. They had a wonderful campaign. They beat Belgium 2-0 and then beat Spain on penalties. Morocco also beat Portugal in the quarter-finals. Dominik Livakovic will be the goalkeeper. He has had a great noteworthy tournament.

The defenders will be A. Hakimi, who has been an attacker traditionally, but he has amazed one and all with his defensive play. He won a lot of defensive points and led in total tackles in this World Cup. Raphael Varane, the elegant defender, had a wonderful World Cup as he made it to the Team of the tournament.

Josko Gvardiol has joined the list of defenders. He excelled in covering the space behind the left back and he has done well in crunch moments such as in the games against Belgium and Brazil.

Aziz Behich will complete this list of defenders. He won a lot of hearts for the amazing defence that he had put in. The Australian has shinned even though Australia has not had the best of tournaments.

Coming to the midfield, Sofyan Amrabat has been the best midfielder in the tournament. He took possession of the ball 51 times. He was instrumental in Morocco’s success throughout the tournament. Amrabat defended with an air of brilliance.

Jude Bellingham was responsible for a lot of successful tackles, assists and take on’s through the World Cup."I think he will be the best midfielder in the world." said Phil Foden of Bellingham.

Antoine Griezmann  was known for his superb defensive display and has been a player to watch out for ahead of the big final against Argentina.

Coming to the attackers, Lionel Messi, The Legend, has scored for his team whenever they needed him most in this World Cup. His fitness at this age has been commendable and some of the runs across the field that he has made to score the goals have been superb.

Kylian Mbappe, The star from France, has been the lynchpin for his team and he has been the driving force behind France reaching the final. Julián Álvarez has also helped Argentina in reaching the final providing crucial assists to Messi whenever needed and he provided a new lease of life ever since he was drafted into the side.
