Jaydev Unadkat has had a resurgence of sorts after being included in the Indian Test side after a gap of 12 years. These 12 years brought a lot of misery for the Saurashtra bower. He was trolled after going for INR 11.4 Crores by Rajasthan in 2018.
At the start of 2022, Unadkat made a tweet that read, “Dear Red ball, please give me one more chance. I’ll make you proud.” The 31-year-old was brought into the team for the Bangladesh Test series in absence of Mohammad Siraj. He took three wickets and helped India win the series 2-0.
Unadkat’s journey however seems to be just starting now as the left-arm bowler continues to perform well in the domestic circuit as well. Against the Delhi team, Unadkart took a first over hat-trick in Ranji Trophy match on Tuesday. This was a feat never achieved before in Ranji’s 88-year-old history.
Unadkat ended the innings with a sensational bowling figure of 12-1-39-8. The bowler's superb spell by the ball is being hailed by all cricket fans and players alike.
Following his sensational bowling performance, Unadkat has expressed his happiness through a tweet. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Dear red ball… #RanjiTrophy,” along with a picture of the match ball that had, Sau vs Del 1st over hat-trick 8-39” written over it.

After his performance on Day 1 in the Ranji Trophy match, many fans are now calling for the left-arm pacer to be included in the Border- Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. India is currently struggling to find a fifth bowler for the Test series which is why many think Unadkat would be a great choice for the role.
The Test series between India and Australia starts on February 9th at the VCA Stadium, Pune.
