Differently abled cricketers are some of the gems. Their struggles inspire a lot of youngsters to take up cricket. Here is the story of one such cricketer from J and K. Amir Hussain Lone is currently the captain of the side in the differently abled group of cricketers. Before the 34- year-old could be the skipper, an unfortunate incident occurred that changed his life forever.
Amir belongs to a village named Waghama in Bijbehara of J & K. When Hussain was 8 years old, he met with an unfortunate accident. As a result, he took the route of cricket as a differently-abled cricketer. Even in his category, Lone is very unique and it separates him from others in his group. In his team, the star cricketer is an inspiration to many.

Amir has been playing professional cricket for the last 10 years. In 2013, Amir took up Cricket in his group at the age of 24 after his teacher recognized his potential. The J & K skipper bats by holding in between his neck and shoulder. He bowls with the help of his feet. In the accident at his father's mill, Amir lost both his hands. However, he is not sad about his situation.
'I can do everything by myself and I am not dependent on anyone' - Amir Hussain Lone
Amir is only sad about the fact that the Government did not help him in his difficult situation. In an interview recently, Amir revealed that he did not lose hope and worked hard after the accident. He added that he is not dependent on anyone. "After the accident, I didn't lose hope and worked hard. I can do everything by myself and I am not dependent on anyone," said Amir.
"No one helped me after my accident. Not even the government supported me but my family was always there for me," added Amir who claimed that the government did not help him in his tough conditions. He then added that Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are his favourite cricketers. "Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are our favourite players and if God wishes, we will meet them soon," added Amir.
