On Sunday, the Indian cricket team is set to begin a new chapter in the Tour of South Africa, featuring three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Tests. Notably, each format will be captained by a different Indian cricket team star, marking one of the initial instances of such a division of leadership roles. Suryakumar Yadav has been entrusted with leading the T20I side, and the responsibility falls on him to kick off the Tour with a strong performance in the first T20I against South Africa on Sunday.

Mukesh Kumar who was a key member of the Indian T20I squad and also selected for the ODI series, played a significant role in India's recent home T20I series victory against Australia. However, despite featuring in the first two T20Is, Mukesh Kumar was absent from the third T20I due to a special reason. During the toss of the third T20I, Suryakumar Yadav disclosed the reason behind Mukesh Kumar's non-participation.  Suryakumar stated that Avesh Khan will be replacing Mukesh as Mukesh is playing his most important game, he's getting married, and the team extend their heartfelt wishes to him.

In addition to this, there is a video which has also gone viral that shows a Star India player making a hilarious comment post his wedding has gone viral.

"I am feeling good. Jinke saath starting se raha hai, unke saath doosri paadi start kia hu. Aur matches bhi age accha khelunga main inke saath(I have started my second innings with the person I was with from the start. In the future too I will be playing my match well with her)," Mukesh Kumar told the reporters who were present at the wedding.

Indian team departed for South Africa on December 6

On December 6 (Wednesday), the Indian men's cricket team set off from Bengaluru for a comprehensive tour of South Africa across all formats. The schedule kicks off with a three-match T20I series from December 10 to 14, followed by a three-match ODI series scheduled for December 17 to 21.

The tour concludes with a two-match Test series beginning on December 26, integrated into the World Test Championship. South Africa has historically posed challenges for the Indian team, especially in Test cricket, where securing a series victory has proven elusive. Despite promising performances from previous Indian squads, the quest for making history in South Africa has fallen short, with only four Test match victories for India in the country over three decades.
