The Tasmanian battle has already begun at Wellington between Australia and New Zealand. Today was the beginning of the 1st Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. It has not been the best of days for the visitors as they have been losing some big wickets in the middle. Only Cameron Green is holding the Aussie innings together right now. Australia is still 7 wickets down and they will want the likes of Green to continue his innings to get to a decent total before the end of day 1.
The Kiwi bowlers, on the other hand, have been incredible so far. The pace trio of William O’Rourke, Matt Henry and Scott Kuggeleijn have created havoc among the batters. They will still want that important wicket of Cameron Green and bowl out the Aussies as soon as possible. New Zealand will want to make the most of this game after getting whitewashed completely in T20Is. They have been phenomenal today, but they will still be thinking that they can’t let the partnership between Pat Cummins and Green continue for long.
Matt Henry’s fiery in-swinger
One of the most important batters for Australia is leftie opener Usman Khawaja. Khawaja has been getting some big runs for his side in the previous ventures and even got a great start today. Unfortunately, the southpaw was victim to a phenomenal delivery by Matt Henry. The ball just tailed in slightly to the talented opening batter. Khawaja was stunned by the delivery and could only see it crash into the stumps in the end. This was also a crucial wicket in the game for the Kiwis since Khawaja was looking set on 33 from 118 deliveries.

Right now, it is New Zealand, who has control of the game due to a bit of a collapse by the Aussies. The baggy greens will want Green to get a big score to get to a decent total in the end. Not everything is looking good for Australia right now. The New Zealand will want to finish the innings quickly whereas the Aussies will be thinking of surviving this game. What does this game have in store next, we have just got to wait and watch.
