WATCH: KS Bharat's Lord Rama celebration after scoring first class century against England Lions

The England Lions team is currently in the Indian subcontinent playing the India A squad in a Test series. This first-class domestic series is there to help the Indians see potential players for the test side. There are a lot of talented players in the setup, and some of them are also in the 5-match Test series against England which will start on the 25th of January and will be one of the biggest contests to watch out for. This will also be an opportunity for the young players to express themselves on the big stage as well and be considered by the board of selectors in the future.

There have been a lot of players who have been impressive on this practice first-class tour including wicketkeeper batter KS Bharat. The 30-year-old has already been named in the squad and has had a great series so far scoring 195 runs in the first two games at an average of 97.50. There have been discussions on KL Rahul who has been their first-choice keeper in the last few months to play as a specialist batter in the team and to get another keeper into the team. This performance from Bharat should be enough to give him an opportunity in the upcoming series as well.

Bharat’s iconic celebration after a century

After scoring a great half-century in the two-day practice match Bharat still had to do something special to make an impact. He had done that in the 1st unofficial Test where the India A team managed to draw the game vs the England Lions. Bharat scored a brilliant 116 from 165 deliveries that included 15 boundaries. This was followed by an iconic celebration from the stylish player as he displayed an imaginary bow and arrow, which he did in respect of Sri Rama. This was a great innings and a very unique celebration from Bharat.

This should make a strong case for Bharat going into the upcoming series against the main national side as well. He will look to give the same consistent performances in the next few games and fix a place in the playing squad. These are great times for the wicketkeeper, who will have some competition but is looking promising already showing great technique and consistency in the two games he has played till now. We hope Bharat will be a major part of the team in the future as well as he is a great talent who needs to be watched by everyone.
