The 5 match Test series featuring India and England will also begin after the conclusion of the Afghanistan T20I series. This will also be one of the most awaited contests between the number 2 and number 3 ranked Test teams in Tests right now. The Indians have not yet announced their squad, but it will still be a series to look forward to featuring some big players in the mix. The Indians confidence will be on a high after winning their first Test match in Cape Town against a tough South Africa side. The people will look to witness another thrilling contest between these two powerful teams in international cricket right now.

The rivalry between the two teams has been great in the longest format as well, where England might have an edge over India overall, but have not had a lot of success in India recently. The last time these two sides faced each other in the sub continent, the Poms did manage to win the first Test by a big margin, but still did not manage to win the series losing the next 3 games unable to face the guile of the Indian spin attack. However going forward the Indian Cricket board is taking another young player into consideration.

Ishan Kishan consideration

The board and selectors are considering the left handed keeper batter Ishan Kishan to be the wicket keeper in the upcoming series. This means that KL Rahul who was assuming the role for some time will be backed once again as a specialist batter. This can be a risky and brave decision from the board since Kishan has only played Two Test matches so far and hasn’t played as much cricket recently being excluded from the Test series against South Africa and T20I series against Afghanistan. This will also be a big responsibility for the 25 yr old southpaw if he is picked in that position.

There is no doubt that Kishan is one of the best upcoming talents for Indian cricket right now known for his aggressive approach that can come in handy against the England Bazball strategy. This might be a great opportunity for the youngster, but he still has really big shoes to fill and he will be under a lot of pressure going into the series if he is included in that position. We hope that Kishan can live up to that position and play his best game which he is known for.
