The Women's Premier League(WPL) 2024 is about to start on the 23rd of February in the city of Bengaluru. The five teams will be ready to battle in the 2nd edition of the league. We know that the batters will keep us on our feet in the league, but the bowlers could surprise us as well. Bowlers like Sophie Ecclestone and Shabnim Ismail have been one of the top bowlers in international cricket and are capable enough to go through any batting lineup. They will be the pacers to look out for in the upcoming tournament.

The team that struggled with their bowling attack last season were the Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) women. They might have had some powerful batters in their batting lineup, but have had problems in their pace attack. They were also one of the bottom two teams last year. To help their chances in the upcoming tournament they have picked the likes of 32-year-old English pacer Kate Cross. She has already been one of England’s top pacers in international cricket with over 100 wickets. She has made a great comeback after being unsold in the auction of the previous season.

Kate Cross makes a smart choice

Kate Cross has already arrived in India for the WPL and will be featuring in the RCB team in the upcoming tournament. Kate Cross had reached the hotel and was welcomed by the staff who had also served her a drink. There was a yellow and red drink on the tray and Kate Cross had smartly chosen the red drink. This seemed like a move to show her loyalty to the women in red for whom she would be playing in the tournament. This might have been one of the smartest moves made by the experienced cricketer.

Watch the video below:

Cross who is known for her ability to swing the ball both ways will be a great addition to the squad. The RCB fans will be hoping that she gives her best. Cross might not have the best records in T20s, but her experience will be a big asset to the side. The RCB women have another chance to try and get their hands on the trophy which they failed miserably at in the last season. This bowling attack looks good and we will finally want to see these quality players give some great performances in the upcoming tournament.
