There were many rules that the Indian Cricket Board had to follow in red-ball cricket. Players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal are still trying to make a comeback into the side through the Ranji Trophy but did not comply with the ultimatum. This caused these players to miss out on some big series in international cricket already.

One of the cricketers was India’s pocket dynamo, Ishan Kishan. The southpaw had shown through some great performances in white ball cricket and made the Test squad for the South Africa series. Unfortunately, he excluded himself from the tour due to mental fatigue. To be available for Test matches Kishan was advised to play Ranji Trophy to make himself available. However, the 26-year-old chose to prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League(IPL) season. This has led to a lot of backlash concerning the talented player.

After a long break, Kishan was seen playing the DY Patil T20 tournament in Navi Mumbai. Kishan was representing the Reserve Bank of India. Kishan was playing against Route Mobile Limited. He had played some great shots while opening the batting score at 19 from 12 balls. It might not be a big tournament, but it is still good to see Kishan back on the field after a long time. This knock did end with a loss for Reserve Bank, but Kishan was still looking good in his short stay at the crease.

This still means that Kishan might be giving importance to T20s, which can still be a problem, but at least he is on the field and playing. Let us not forget that the T20 World Cup and IPL are still coming up and Ishan has to be at his best. The Test match debate will still go on, but maybe Kishan might be eyeing a spot in the T20 World Cup squad. He has already shown his match-winning ability at the start of his career and it will still be a treat to watch the young leftie show his skills once again.
