Hardik Pandya's trade deal between Mumbai Indian and Gujarat Titans has stirred the Indian cricket setup and has set the precedent for such kinds of deals in the future. Hardik Pandya led Gujarat to its maiden IPL title in its first season only and also led it to the finals last year. He was looked at as the pied piper of the Gujarat team but the news of his trade from MI to CSK in November last year shook the Indian cricketing fans.
Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians for a whopping sum of 16 crores and apart from it, another fee was paid to the Gujarat Giants by the Mumbai Indians known as the transaction fee whose amount was not disclosed.
The shift of Hardik from GT to MI was a strategic one because as soon as the trade was made Hardik was announced as the captain of MI taking the baton from Rohit Sharma leading MI to five IPL titles. This move angered a lot of MI and Rohit Sharma fans as the franchise faced a lot of backlash after the trade. However, there is news that players in the MI camp are not happy about this trade and there is unrest among them.
