The 1st Test has already completed its first day in the India vs England Test series which took place in Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium. The visitors were bowled out for 246 in the first innings thanks to the brilliant spin attack of the Indian side. The only player who made a great contribution with the bat was Ben Stokes who scored a brilliant 70 of 88 deliveries to keep his side in the game. However, it was the spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, who were the stars on the day and were looking threatening as always.
The Indians in reply ended on a good note with 119-1 at the end of day 1 and are looking strong after stumps. It was Yashasavi Jaiswal who was looking in sublime form at the end of the day scoring 76 runs of just 70 balls at a strike rate of over 100 that included 9 fours and 3 sixes. Even the loss of skipper Rohit Sharma did not stop the 22- year- old southpaw from playing his attacking style of batting. The England bowlers were looking very rusty with ball in hand as well, as no bowler was looking threatening except for Jack Leach who was getting some grip of the wicket.
Ben Foakes epic fall
There is no doubt it has been a terrible day for England but there was something even more unfortunate that had happened during the Indian innings which feature English wicket keeper Ben Foakes. Foakes was running to receive the ball and was not aware of the stumps in front of him, this resulted in him crashing into the stumps and falling over while catching the ball. This was slightly hilarious and painful for the fans who have seen the video on social media. Foakes will not want to see the replay of that incident again in his life.

These are some of the moments in cricket that are really hilarious when you see it, but is very painful once it has been experienced. There will be fans that will chuckle at the site of Foakes who was showing a lack of awareness while keeping, but it will not be a great scene for Foakes himself who will be slightly embarrassed on the big screen. This explains the story of England’s day on the field on the first day where everything seemed to be crashing down in everything they tried on the field. There are still four more days left in the match and the visitors will look to get something good out of the match in the future.
