The India vs Afghanistan T20I series will end tomorrow at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore with the Men in Blue already taking the series, winning the first two games. The Afghanistan team can only manage to try and win the 3rd and final game to go home with some confidence. This series will not only be known for the great performances by the Indian players, but also for the surprising return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who have made a return in the T20I format after 14 months.

The fans were happy to see both these cricketing giants arrive in the shortest format and are even looking forward to them playing in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Though Rohit has not had the best return to the T20I format, Virat Kohli did show some brilliance with the bat with a good-looking cameo of 29 from 16 deliveries. The spectators might have not witnessed a masterclass innings but enjoyed seeing the king play his beautiful drives and glances till he was dismissed.

Virat is one of the few players, who has had consistent performances in all three formats and is still looking in incredible form with averages of over 50 in both white-ball formats in international cricket. There is also another record waiting to be achieved by Virat in the next game as well.

Virat a shot away from the T20 milestone

We all know that Virat is a complete run machine when he enters the field with a lot of runs under his belt. In fact, he is also one of the highest run scorers in the world in the T20 format as well. Virat is currently on 11,994 runs in the T20 format with an average of 41.35 and has scored 8 centuries and 91 half-centuries in his 375 matches. He is just six runs away from 12000 runs being the first Indian batter to achieve it and the fourth cricketer in the world to achieve the milestone.

This will be another record in the never-ending list for Virat and he seems to be breaking every record he sets his eyes on. There might not be a batter like Virat Kohli who is not only one of the most technically gifted players, but also a consistent match-winner who scores runs for fun. Virat still is one of the fittest players on the Indian side and it will be interesting to see if he will be playing in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The future of the king still looks bright and we think that he still has more cricket left in him going forward.
