"The last 12 months have been a mixed bag..."- Arshdeep Singh on his performance in the last 12 months

The T20 format can be a really cruel format for any bowler, especially in international cricket where the best players are featured. There is a reason why it is called the batters game with boundaries being shorter and bats getting better. However, that still doesn't mean that the bowlers cannot enjoy some success as well. Even though the margin for error may be very low with the batter looking to attack every time, there are still moments where the bowler gets the better of the batter and dismisses him either with an exceptional delivery or just sets him up with a proper plan.

The bowler for India who is right now among the wickets is 24-year-old left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. The Punjab Kings star is known to be brilliant with both the new ball and the old ball. With the ability to swing the ball and bowl some great yorkers at the death, he has been one of the upcoming pacers for his country in the T20I format. His career in T20I has already had a promising start with 62 wickets in 44 matches. Arshdeep has been the best bowler for the India side in T20I’s and looks to be having a great career so far.

However, Arshdeep has also had his fair share of problems in the last 12 months as well where he has been smashed for a lot of runs. The last two series have also been a bit up and down for the young bowler in terms of economy. During the pre-match press conference, the young pacer addressed his performances in the last 12 months saying “The last 12 months have been a mixed bag (of experience). There were a few good performances and I got to learn something new.” Arshdeep also mentioned a few ups and downs that had made his performances neutral at best.

These are still early days for Arshdeep in his international career and we will be looking forward to what his future is going to be. With his performance and skill, he will surely be in consideration to play the T20 World Cup 2024 which will start in June.it is still good to see the youngster still have the motivation to learn keep improving his game and be honest about his performances. Arshdeep is definitely one of the best upcoming talents in the Indian bowling lineup and will be a man to watch out for.
