Sydney Sixers all rounder Tom Curran ruled out of BBL due to injury

The Big Bash League(BBL) 2023-24 is almost coming to an end with the race to the playoffs still going on. With a lot of action still left, the teams will want their full strength squad in the game. There have been a lot of impactful players in the BBL this season who have performed with both bat and ball. These all rounders have been unstoppable in the league so far. The role and need for such players are vital since they add that needed depth in the squad and provide the perfect balance. There is no doubt that these players have been an important factor in all the teams that have been playing in the league.

Out of all the teams the Sydney Sixers have been known to have a variety of these players in their side. The likes of Moises Henriques, Sean Abbott, Steve O’ Keefe have been a great addition to the squad with their ability to pick wickets in the middle and score valuable runs as well. Another all rounder the boys in pink will miss though is Tom Curran. The all rounder was one of the most impactful players known for his incredible variations with the ball and great ball striking lower down the order. Everything already went bad when the player was banned for four games due to intimidating the umpire during the game.

Curran injury keeps him out of the season

The English all rounder was set to return after his ban, but things just went from bad to worse for the player. From recent updates Curran has suffered a knee injury that has led to him being ruled out of the season. This will be a big loss to the Sixers since his services would have been vital in the upcoming two fixtures and potential place in the top four. Curran has given some great performances for the sixers and would have been useful in the last two games against the Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers.

Despite the loss of an impactful all round player in the form of Tom Curran the Sixers are still in a great position to make the playoffs as they are currently placed at number 3 in the points table. With 10 points on the board with 4 wins, 2 losses and 2 no results, the franchise is just a win or two away from making it in the final four. Let's hope Moises Henriques and his men will still play their best cricket in the league and prove to the people why they are 3 time BBL champs and will give a great fight in the tournament going forward.
