The Indian cricket team is finally enjoying a short break ahead of the game versus England on Sunday. Team India has won five games out of five before their ODI World Cup 2023 clash in Lucknow on Sunday. One man missing in action is none other than Rishabh Pant as he is still recuperating on his own.

The 26-year-old Indian wicket-keeper was injured in a bad car accident which took place towards the end of 2022. This was after the tour of Bangladesh as the youngster was on his way home to celebrate the upcoming New Year with his family.

It is widely expected that Rishabh Pant will make a comeback soon as his recovery has been on the right track. Many fans are still missing the presence of the dynamic left-hander during the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.

Rishabh Pant posted an update ahead of his much-anticipated comeback

Injured Indian wicket-keeper and batter Rishabh Pant is stepping up on his recovery process. The 26-year-old clicked a picture of himself and posted it on social media where he could be seen in the gym.

This latest update has now raised the expectations from the fans for their favourite Indian star to return to the field. Pant last played for India during the two-match test series versus Bangladesh.

The New Delhi-based cricketer scored 148 runs from the innings he played on that tour. His best score during the series was the 93 he scored in the 1st innings of the 2nd test in Mirpur. The Indian team had won a close game on a difficult fourth-inning pitch.

Rishabh Pant has missed most of the action this year for the Indian cricket team as well as the IPL 2023 season. His absence was felt during the four-match test series versus Australia and the World Test Championships final.

Just like the Indian fans even Rishabh Pant has been following the Indian team during the 2023 ODI World Cup. During the India versus New Zealand game in Dharamshala, the 26-year-old “Let’s keep going” to cheer the men in blue.

There is a huge belief that Rishabh Pant could be back for the year's end in South Africa. If he doesn’t make it for that trip then the 5-match-test series versus England at the start of 2024 could make his return to the field.
