Fans react happily after Ravi Bishnoi attains number 1 rank in T20I cricket

Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has become the world number 1 bowler in T20I cricket. The 23-year-old reaped the rewards for his amazing show with the ball in recent times. Ravi Bishnoi played a key role in India’s 4-1 win over Australia during the 5-match T20 series recently.

India is set to play South Africa in less than four days during the three –match T20 series. The first game will be played on Sunday in Durban and Ravi Bishnoi will yet again be the key bowler for India.

Ravi Bishnoi reaches summit of T20I rankings 

It was a memorable Wednesday for Indian Cricket Fans after Ravi Bishnoi became the world's number 1 bowler in T20 Cricket. The 23-year-old has displaced Rashid Khan from the top of the rankings in T20i cricket.

Ravi Bishnoi has 699 points which is the best jump of his young career. Rashid Khan meanwhile has 692 points with his highest tally being 816. Wanindu Hasaranga completes the top 3 tied with Adil Rashid as both have 679 points.

Axar Patel is the only other Indian bowler who is sitting in the top 15 at number 11 with 638 points. Arshdeep Singh is at the 20th spot, while out-of-favor seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at number 34.

Former Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was a guest on Jio Cinema recently. The legendary spinner heaped praise on the capabilities that the young Ravi Bishnoi possess. The youngster had the Aussies in trouble in each of the games played in the series.

Muralitharan said “India has always had a good set of spinners from every generation. You see from Anil Kumble to Ravichandran Ashwin to now the young guys who are yet to come. Ravi Bishnoi is different from any other leg-spinner than the other ones.”

The Lankan legend continued, “He bowls quicker and makes the ball slide a lot and Axar also is very accurate. Not a big spinner of the ball and Washington also is similar because he doesn’t turn the ball very much and is accurate”
