It’s always the Indian cricket fans' favourite topic to debate who is the better batter between Virat Kohli and Sachin who have played for India. Most of the time Indian fans find themselves in a fix when choosing between these two Indian greats. On one hand, we hand the great Sachin Tendulkar who has amassed 30,000 international runs and 100 centuries in his glorious career.

On the other hand, we have  Virat Kohli who is India’s modern great with almost 50 plus average in all three formats and 80 centuries to his name with almost 14,000 one-day runs. These are some staggering numbers of two Indian greats who have proved their greatness with their performances on the big stage.

But Pakistan’s fast bowler Junaid Khan thinks otherwise in this regard. At a popular Pakistani podcast when the host asked Junaid Khan to choose the best batter ever played for India two, the 33-year Pakistan pacer chose Rohit Sharma as his pick for the best batter ever played for India.

When asked about how he came to this conclusion, the pacer said that he feels that Rohit Sharma is a complete batter and he has all the shots in his armoury. He also lauded the Indian opener for his world record innings of 264 runs that he played against Sri Lanka which is the highest-ever individual score by a batter in ODI Cricket history. Rohit Sharma has 3 double centuries in One-day Cricket which is the most by any batter.

In the Cricket World Cup 2023, Rohit Sharma secured the position of the second-highest run-scorer for Team India, narrowly missing the 600-run milestone by three runs. The Indian captain's altruistic performances received praise from both fans and experts. In the 2023 World Cup, Rohit Sharma accumulated a total of 597 runs, at a mind-boggling strike rate of 125 and an impressive average of 54.27.

Junaid recalls his feud with Kohli

Junaid Khan also remembered his feud with Virat Kohli in the 2012-23 series against India on their home turf. Pakistan won the One-Day series by 2-1 and Junaid Khan got the wicket of Virat Kohli in all three matches.

Junaid Khan played with Kohli in the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 and he recalls his feud with Kohli during the 2012 series where after getting Virat’s wicket in the first one-day, the Indian batter told Junaid that it won’t happen again but the Pakistan paceman got him again in the second ODI.

Taking the verbal battle to the third One-Day Junaid told Kohli on the morning of the third One-day that he would get him again today and he kept his word by getting Kohli again thrice in the series.
