The Indian Cricket Board is set to have a meeting with the current Indian captain, the current Indian coach, and the current Indian selector. A lot of crucial decisons are expected to be taken at the end of the meeting. The fans are waiting for the outcome of the meeting, which is likely to change the future of the Indian cricket. The meeting is set to happen on the 2nd and the 3rd of December. 

Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Ajit Agarkar are set to have discussions about their future plannings. The senior players like Rohit and Virat Kohli were asked to decide on their future in the team in their own terms. In the meeting, Rohit is likely to discuss about his decision. The Indian captain is likely to give his take on the future of the team in leadership. 

While Rohit is likely to remain the captain in Test for some more years, the captaincy in Limited overs cricket might change. Hardik has been the T20I captain of India in the last year. Since Rohit is ageing and ODIs is not that relevant in the near future, one could expect Rohit to step down from the Indian captaincy in limited overs. If that materializes, India might see three different captains. 

Decison on coaching future of India

In the big meeting, the future of coaching of the Indian team is also likely to be discussed. India played under Rahul Dravid from November 2021 to November 2023. In the upcoming days, there might be a change in coach. Dravid is reportedly unlikely to extend the contract, which might lead to the selction of a new coach. 

Reports suggest VVS Laxman to be the new coach of India. The head of the National cricket Academy is often regarded as the backup of Dravid. in the past, Laxman helped India and Dravid whenever the latter wanted some break from his job. With Dravid unlikely to continue with his job, Laxman is almost confirmed as the new coach of the Indian team.

Rohit will not continue in T20s and Dravid is also not going to extend his contract.
