Dean Elgar scored a fantastic hundred in the first innings of the first Test against India. At SuperSport Park in Centurion, the Southpaw attacked the Indian bowlers for fun on the Boxing Day Test. Barring the experienced campaigners in Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, other bowlers leaked runs and bowled as per the way Elgar dictated them to do so.

The Southpaw has announced the series as his last in Test cricket. As India ended up with a score of 245 runs in their first innings, thanks to a splendid knock from KL Rahul, the home side immediately launched the attack on the Indian bowling attack. Mohammad Siraj started the spell on a good note by dismissing Aiden Markram for 5 runs. Nothing went well for India from there.

Dean Elgar played a fantastic knock and attacked the Indian bowlers. The South African opener scored boundaries after boundaries one after the other and put pressure on an inexperienced attack. The Indian players looked clueless and bowled to the strengths of the experienced batter. Elgar cut the ball well and targeted the leg side region well. He played some exquisite drives and put pressure on the Indian attack.

In his stay in the middle, the South African scored 21 boundaries by the end of the second session and completely took the control of the game. The experienced batter has scored 115 runs in 168 balls so far in the innings. The aggressive knock of Elgar has not been stopped by the Indian team, as they find themselves behind the game at the moment.

No Indian bowler looked threatening in the middle barring Jasprit Bumrah. Ashwin was good with his control. But the likes od Siraj, Shardul, and Prasidh leaked runs terribly. As a result, SA is currently in a dominating position in the Test match. At the end of the second session of the second day, SA are 194/3 after 49 overs, and are trailing by only 51 runs in their first innings at the moment.
