The match is set to be played at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The pitch has changed a lot over the years. In the 2000s, the wicket was difficult to bat on. In the last few years, it has been a batting-friendly wicket. In the first few years of T20 cricket, the wicket used to be slow and helpful for the spinners. There used to be some seam and bounce on offer for the pacers. However, it is a flat wicket over the years and bowlers have a difficult time in the middle.

The batters find it easy to bat on and the bowlers do not have much in the wicket. The boundaries are longer in the straight and shorter in the square region. Hence, the batters would be targeting the square boundaries.
