In the tournament, India showcased dominance by defeating Bangladesh, Ireland, and the USA. In the Super Sixes, they triumphed over New Zealand and Nepal. The unbeaten streak continued in the semi-final against South Africa.

Australia's path to the final included victories over Namibia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and England in the group stage. In the Super Sixes, they overcame Pakistan and had a no-result game against the West Indies due to rain. Their journey culminated with a win against Pakistan in the semi-final. Ultimately, Australia's determined performance in both batting and bowling secured their U19 World Cup triumph, overshadowing India's attempt to chase down the challenging total in the showdown.
