WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja's father speaks about strained relationship with his son

There have been a lot of great all-rounders in India who have given us some great performances during their careers. The likes of Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh are some of the notable names that we remember even today. The Indian all-rounder who is recently making the headlines is Ravindra Jadeja. The 35-year-old cricketer is currently the number 1 ranked all-rounder in Test matches and is known to cover all the bases of the game whether it is taking wickets or scoring runs for his sides. He is also one of the best fielders in the Indian team which also makes him an impact player in the side.

Jadeja has an impressive record in international cricket with 500 wickets and over 5500 runs in his career. He is important for his team in franchise cricket as well where he has been representing the Chennai Super Kings(CSK) for a long time. Jadeja's journey has been an impressive one he first came onto the scene after his great performances in the 2008 U19 World Cup and the Indian Premier League where he was part of Shane Warne’s IPL-winning Rajasthan Royals side. Despite this success in the cricketing world, there is still one department where Jadeja is still struggling.

Family problems of the star

The star all-rounder might be one of the most reliable players for his team. In an interview with Divya Bhaskar, Ravindra Jadeja's father has opened up about his issues with his son and son-in-law. He said that he managed to run his house on his wife’s Rs 20,000 pension who had died in a car accident in 2005. Anirudh is still living in his old 2BHK flat even when his son is living in his four-storey bungalow in Jamnagar.

His father openly stated that they have not been on talking terms recently. Anirudh also stated that Jadeja has not even landed up at their home for Raksha Bandhan saying, “I don't call Ravindra, and I don't need him. He is not my father; I am his father. He is the one who is supposed to call me.” It is also revealed that Ravindra Jadeja has not been close to his sister as well and has cut ties with her as well. This interview gives us a glimpse of the personal life of the cricketer which isn’t really in the best of terms at all. We hope that they can settle their differences and become a happy family eventually.
