The India vs England Test series is set to begin in just 4 days on the 25th of January in the Indian subcontinent. A lot of people are excited to witness this series which will feature one of the best teams in Test cricket right now. The contest will be against the Indian talent vs the Bazball tactic where England will have a more aggressive approach to the game of Test cricket which they are known for. The series is expected to consist of 5 Test matches that will test the patience and ability of all the players who are featured in this series which has a great history filled with drama and excitement in it.
The player England was looking forward to in the series was none other than Harry Brook. The 24-year-old batter has been exceptional in his career so far, where he displayed some incredible performances which are filled with stylish shots and big hits. Brook is also known to be a player who can attack from both sides of the ground, as he has shown in his 12 Test matches. He has scored over 1000 runs at an average of 62.15. Unfortunately, the young and talented cricketer had a turn of events.
Brook to miss out on India tour
The English Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that the English batter will miss out on the upcoming series due to personal reasons. This came as a shock since he is supposed to be one of the best players on the Test side as well. Brook’s family and the board have issued a statement saying that Brook is to return home with immediate effect without anyone invading his personal space. It will be tough to see the young cricketer not feature in the series, which would have also been a great opportunity for him to show his talent in tough conditions as well.
Brook’s exclusion from the series will hit the squad hard and they will need a replacement as soon as possible to feature in the series. With the amount of impact Brook has to the England team and tactics is going to be tough to find a perfect choice. Let’s hope we still see Brook come back to playing some great knocks as soon as possible and keep impressing us. The ECB will also have a tough choice to make with not a lot of time left before the series and will have to go back to the drawing board once again.
