The Indian Premier League(IPL) 2024 is set to begin on the 22nd of March which is just a month away. The board has only announced the schedule for the first 15 days. Even though the people will be excited to see the Kohli vs Dhoni battle at the Chepauk, there is another clash that will also be something to watch out for. It is the game between The Gujarat Titans and the Mumbai Indians which will be held in Ahmedabad on the 24th of March.

The reason for this is due to the sudden change of teams by Hardik Pandya, who is already getting backlash from the Mumbai fans. The star all-rounder replacing Rohit Sharma as the new skipper is still not sitting well with the fans at all. It will be a big challenge for him as he faces his former team at the Motera. This might be the birth of another serious rivalry in the upcoming season.

Aakash Chopra wants him booed

Former India cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has given his insights on this matter as well saying “ . If there isn’t any heartburn in the public of Ahmedabad, if they don’t feel hurt, where is the fun? I am expecting. No, I am hoping - don’t tell anyone - that Hardik goes for the toss and people go ‘boo’. That’s where the league matures.”  These are the words from the former opener regarding this topic.

This is just Chopra wanting some excitement from the tournament, bringing in a bit of drama. For all we know the reaction from the Mumbai fans have already been a problem for Pandya. It might get worse for him after leaving the franchise when it was just at its peak. Hardik will still be the talking point in the Mumbai franchise anyway. It is up to him how he will deal with that added pressure in the tournament.
