The relationship between cricket and Bollywood has been deeper than you all think as all of them are in the business of entertaining the fans. We know there many cricketers who have married into the film industry including the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. They are hitched to popular actresses and are enjoying their married life. The likes of Ajay Jadeja, Salil Ankola and Vinod Kambli are some of the names who have tried their hand at acting in Bollywood movies. Though these movies did not do that well, it was still interesting to see these individuals try their hand at something new.

Rohit Sharma in some way also makes this list of actors who have tried their luck in the films as well. This might be surprising for some fans as Rohit does not seem like the type of personality who would try his luck in the movies. Rohit has been a passionate cricketer all his life and he is currently one of the best batters of Indian Cricket right now and is currently leading the national team. Rohit Sharma has over 18000 international runs and came into the scene in the 2007 T20 World Cup as an upcoming Indian talent.

Which movie announced its debut in Bollywood?

The film we are talking about is Harman Baweja and Amrita Rao starring Victory where the hitman was seen on the silver screen. The film was based on a fictional aspiring cricketer Vijay Shekhawat played by Baweja. Rohit was in the early days of his career and made a cameo in the movie which also featured some veteran actors like Dalip Tahil and Anupam Kher. Rohit was in the movie as the in-form batter in the squad who in the later half of the film gets injured to give Baweja’s character a chance to come back into the match.

Rohit was not the only cricketer who starred in the film since the likes of RP Singh, Brett Lee, and Muttiah Muralitharan were also seen in the movie. The movie failed miserably at the box office and never saw the light of day, but it was still great to see the Current Indian skipper's journey from his early years to where he is now in the sport. Rohit did have a bit of a roller coaster of a journey in his early days in the national team and also faced exclusion from the Indian squad in the 2011 World Cup as well. These are moments which show us the journey of the player from potential talent to absolute legend today.
