AB de Villiers has criticized the Apex Cricket Council and T20 cricket for a lack of Test matches in the India vs South Africa series. The former South African batter felt that things must change. Many former cricketers had given the same opinion about the Test series between SA and India which had only 2 Test matches. The series finished in about 4.5 days.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believed that the series should have had at least 3 matches. Likewise, many other cricketers suggested the same. De Villiers felt that the focus on T20 cricket has led to the decline in Test cricket. The South African added that the scheduling from the Apex board has not been great either.

“I am very upset about the fact that we didn’t get a third Test. Once again you got to blame T20 cricket around the world, the ICC, the scheduling," said De Villiers on his YouTube channel. He added that he did not know whom to blame and felt that something was not right. De Villiers asked for the change for Test cricket to survive.

'There will be enough cricket between India and Australia and England' - Ab De Villiers

"I don’t know who is there to blame. All I know is something is not right. If you want to see more Test matches things are gonna have to change," added the former South African captain. De Villiers pointed out that the top teams in the world like India, Australia, and England manage to play more Test matches against each other. De Villiers concluded by saying that things must change to see other teams playing more Tests.

There will be enough cricket between India and Australia and England, I can tell you that. But if you want to see all the teams in the world competing to see who is the best Test team in the world, something will have to change," concluded De Villiers. India will be taking on England in the next 2 months, which is set to have a whopping 5 Test matches.
