India vs Pakistan’s cricket match is considered to be the mother of all battles in the world of cricket. Given the history between these two nations and the passion for Cricket among the fans of these two countries a cricket match between both of them is more than just a mere sporting event.

The test becomes more of the mental strength of the players rather than the cricketing skills and more things than a mere win or loss depending on the outcome of the match. We have seen the careers of players being decided on their performance in these matches.

Pakistan’s flop World Cup campaign

On one hand, where a win elevates your confidence and team spirit to the next level. On the other hand, we have seen teams breaking after a loss in such a high-intensity match. In the past few months, we have seen a similar situation with the Pakistan Cricket team. Pakistan team landed on Indian soil after 11 years to play the 2023 ODI World Cup amid tensions flaring between both nations.

The Pakistan fans had pinned high hopes on them to lift the World Cup on Indian soil and more importantly, beat India at their home in the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium and make a statement for themselves and the country. But the occasion got to the Pakistan Cricket team and they weren’t able to handle the loss which resulted in them losing the match in a one-sided manner with 117 balls left.

Such a huge loss against their arch-rivals dented Pakistan’s World Cup campaign to a great extent. After the loss against India, Pakistan went on a losing spree and lost their next 3 consecutive matches and eventually stumbled out of the ODI World Cup. Their mediocre campaign resulted in the ouster of Babar Azam as the captain of Pakistan in all three formats.

The change in captaincy didn’t bring any fortunes for Pakistan as they lost the test series against Australia by 3-0 and are also behind in the T20I series against New Zealand by 0-4  and are on the verge of getting white-washed again.
