India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra was quick enough to wish Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan on his Commonwealth gold. Chopra backed out of the Commonwealth Games 2022 due to an injury he sustained at the World Athletics Championships.

The 24-year-old became the first man and second Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships. The athlete bagged a silver and had to back out of the Birmingham multi-sport event. Arshad Nadeem, the Pakistani javelin thrower, won gold for Pakistan with a 90.18m throw.

Neeraj Chopra was quick to take it to Instagram to wish his Pakistani counterpart for his victory. "Congratulations Arshad bhai for gold and crossing 90mtr with new games record. Aage ke competitions ke liye all the best," Chopra commented.

Arshad Nadeem came close to winning a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but ended up in the fifth place with an 82.91m throw. He again ended up in fifth place at the World Athletics Championships with an 86.16m throw. The athlete from Pakistan has finally managed to win gold at the Commonwealth Games 2022. His throw of 90.18m is the third best this year.

D.P. Manu and Rohit Yadav had to make up for Neeraj Chopra at the Birmingham event. However, they both missed out on the opportunity to bag a medal for India. Chopra updated that he has been recovering well and wanted to get back to business soon. "Hi everyone. I've been away working on getting back to fitness, but it has been amazing to see our Team India athletes do so well in Birmingham!" Chopra was quoted as saying.
