Today, June 2, marks the 34th birthday of Steve Smith, one of the most amazing cricketers of our time. Smith, who is from Australia, has made an everlasting impression on the game with his outstanding skills and unconventional style of play. Smith has constantly proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with throughout his career, dominating in all formats of the game.
Smith's international career started in 2010 when he made his Test debut against Pakistan. There was no turning back for the brilliant batter after that. He has been a vital part of the Australian Test team throughout the years, demonstrating invincible dedication and a constant hunger for runs.
Smith has accumulated an incredible 8792 runs in 96 Test matches, with a stunning average of 59.8. His ability to score runs at such a high rate constantly demonstrates his remarkable technique and mental toughness. Smith's abilities aren't restricted to the game's longest format. In 142 One Day Internationals (ODIs), he has scored 4939 runs at an average of 44.5 and a strike rate of 87.5.
Steve Smith fears spin-friendly track ahead of finals
Talking about the upcoming finals of the Test Championship against India, Australia superstar Steve Smith fears the spin-friendly track at the Oval. Notably, India is set to face Australia in the finals at the Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. Ahead of the game, Smith gave an interview to an Australia-based media house. While speaking about the game Smith mentioned that he expects a good batting track at Oval.
However, he further added that the pitch might get deteriorated and offer some spin-friendly conditions. He mentioned that Oval sometimes helps spinners as the game progresses and it might haunt Aussies as it did during Border-Gavaskar Trophy this year. Notably, in February this year, India beat Australia by 2-1 to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
Here is how fans react to Steve Smith's birthday:

The best of this era and the pre-suspension Smith was statistically hugely ahead of all the favourites in test 👌

Happy birthday to the one and only
Indeed a SHARP mind, so much that he even tried to cheat, everyone knows what happened against SA in 2018; Also the guy entered the team as a spinner but later became a batsman that too so great, his entry was also like his acts; No doubt a great batsman but not GOAT
