The Asia Cup 2022 will kick off on August 27 and will go on until September 11. The United Arab Emirates will host the event. Dubai International Stadium will host the opening and final match of the tournament. The tournament will be played in the T20I format this time around. Asia Cup was last played in the T20I format in 2016. Team India are the defending champions and are favourites to win the cup once again.
The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2022 was announced yesterday, but a few of the deserving candidates failed to make the cut. Here are the three deserving players who missed out to be a part of the Asia Cup squad:
1) Sanju Samson:

Sanju Samson, the Kerala-based batter, has been in and out of the Indian squad for a long time. And the batter never really got a fair chance to express his talent. He played the ODI series against West Indies and came up with some valuable innings when it was most needed.
Samson has been left out of the squad once again for the Asia Cup 2022. Although the batter averages less, Samson can hit a few balls out of the park and get some crucial runs for India. It is a known fact that the T20I format is Sanju Samson’s forte. He goes down as one of the players who deserved a go-ahead for the Asia Cup 2022.
