Ahead of the prestigious final game of the World Test Championship 2021-23 against Australia, India face a setback as India skipper Rohit Sharma got injured during a net session. Soon after surviving the blow, Rohit sought medical attention. There has been no confirmation of the severity of the injury, thus nothing can be confirmed about his availability at this time.
However, once physio Kamlesh attended to him, he put on the gloves again and kept batting, indicating that the injury was not serious. Earlier in the morning, the India skipper was seen with a bandage on his right hand during a practice session. This enraged cricket fans because bandages are typically worn by injured cricketers.
However, some independent senior journalists have informed us that there is nothing serious about Rohit's injury and Indian skipper will participate in the prestigious game. Notably, Rohit Sharma is one of those players who was practising with the red ball for the last two months and has a task to do for India.
"It will be nice if I win the 1-2 championship", says Rohit Sharma
Ahead of the prestigious game Rohit Sharma spoke with reporters and said that he has a task to win as many championships as possible for India. He said, "It will be nice if I can win 1-2 ICC championships as a captain. I have got the job to take Indian cricket forward and win as many games as possible - that is what you play for and win titles."
Meanwhile, Rohit would go down in history if India defeats Australia in the World Test Championship 2023 final. Not only that, but Rohit Sharma will join Kapil Dev and Ajinkya Rahane in an exclusive club. Rohit has four victories in six Test matches. With a win over Australia, Rohit will surpass Kapil and Rahane on the list of Test captains with the most wins.
Here is how fans react to Rohit Sharma's injury:
