The 3rd day of the final Test of the four-match Test series between India and Australia started with Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill’s aggressive approach. However, it also became the reason for Rohit’s dismissal. While trying to smash a boundary, he ended up throwing his wicket after getting a great start.

But Cheteshwar Pujara joined Gill and stitched a crucial 113-run stand for the 2nd wicket. Pujara was looking solid but was trapped leg before by Todd Murphy and departed after scoring 42 runs. Former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli came to bat at no. 4 and looked confident. On the other hand, Gill smashed his 2nd Test century and got out after scoring 128 runs as he was also suffering from cramps due to which he lost concentration.

However, Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja managed to survive the second new ball which was taken towards the closing stages of day 3. The Men in Blue still trail by 191 runs and will look to get some quick runs tomorrow. Meanwhile, the first and second day of the match was all about the Australian batters as they scored 480 runs in the first innings, all thanks to Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green as both smashed outstanding centuries.

They weren't attacking that much: Shubman Gill

Gill, who smashed his 2nd Test hundred in the match, talked about his beautiful innings after the stumps on Day 3. The Indian opener said he felt great to score runs in his Indian T20 League home ground. He also mentioned that the Indian team will look to score big on Day 4.

“It feels great to score a hundred here. This is my Indian T20 League home ground and glad to get some runs here. The pitch was pretty good to bat on. Anything happening off the pitch was off the rough area. I was looking to pick singles whenever possible. Honestly, I was still trying to be positive and was keep looking for singles. They weren't attacking that much. We are three down for almost 300. We would look to get a big score on day 4. Who knows the wicket might help our bowlers on day 5.” Gill said in an interview after stumps on Day 3.
