It’s always special to contribute to all departments - Hardik Pandya
Both these players received a lot of praise also from former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. The 2011 World Cup winner tweeted hailing Rishabh Pant and wrote how a ‘45-minute conversation made sense’. Yuvraj Singh’s tweet said, “Looks like the 45-minute conversation made sense 😅!! After the match, Hardik Pandya was elated with his performance as he expressed that he always wanted to help the team in all departments. “It’s always special to contribute in all departments,” said Hardik after winning the player of the series award.
Pandya then spoke about taking up more responsibility after Jasprit Bumrah was set to miss the third ODI. The 28-year-old said:
“We knew Jasprit was not going to play this game. He was telling me that I might have to bowl a couple of overs at the death, I said that they are very big shoes to fill, and I had to step up not at the death, but make sure in the middle overs that I get the breakthroughs."
“You can’t change anything and in cricket, there is no revenge, it does not matter, to be honest. For us, it was important how we go forward from here. England has been fantastic throughout the last couple of years. Everyone found England to be one of the best teams in the world. To come here and perform and win is important," Hardik added later
