The men in blue wicket-keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik has said that Virat Kohli will return to form and come back as a phoenix rising from the ashes. He said that the contributions of Virat Kohli cannot be forgotten and the star batter cannot be ruled out given the standards that Virat Kohli has set for himself.
Kohli's current dip in form has been the talk of the town as the 33-year-old struggled during the recent tour of England. The Indian batter last scored a hundred in 2019. However, Kohli has found support from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and now the latest to back the right-handed batter is Dinesh Karthik.
"Virat has experienced insane success over a period of time. Now he will get a good break and will come back all recharged and hopefully, will do phenomenally well. You can never rule out a player of his caliber," said Karthik.
Speaking to The Times Of India, the Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper said that Kohli has experienced tremendous success over time. With him being left out of the squad for the West Indies tour, Karthik expects the 33-year-old to come back refreshed and renewed and also get back to his prime form and score runs like he used to. He said that the break will do Virat Kohli a world of good.
Karthik, himself, made a fairytale return to the Indian side. The 37-year-old commented on his comeback and admitted that while it was a tough task, he said he worked hard for it. Karthik also hailed India's bench strength.
Karthik himself has been through the hard yards and has made a roaring comeback to the Indian T20I side at present. Dinesh Karthik was the star for the Bangalore side in 2022 where he scored 274 runs in 12 innings at an average and strike rate of 68.50 and 200 respectively. Karthik had a lovely Indian T20 League and used that to get back into the Indian side for the 5-match T20I series against South Africa which took place in India.
