Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick start on August 30. The first match of the tournament is set to be played between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, Pakistan. India will play their opening fixture of the Asia Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The last edition of the Asia Cup was won by Sri Lanka, which was played in the United Arab Emirates.

Former India skipper, Virat Kohli recently passed the Yo-Yo Test is all set for the 16th edition of the Asia Cup. The star India batter registered a time trial of 17.2 on the Yo-Yo test. The 34-year-old celebrated this achievement and took to his social media handle and wrote: "The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done."

Virat Kohli ended the overseas century drought against West Indies

Kohli is considered one of the greatest batters of the modern era. Not only on social media but all of his fans come in big numbers to support the 34-year-old. He has scored over 25,000 runs and 76 hundreds in international cricket across all formats. On August 18, 2023, he completed 15 years in international cricket, having made his debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka.

According to the reports of ESPNcricinfo, the right-hand batter has already run over 500 km on the pitch. The report further states that the star India batter has run almost 277 km between wickets for his non-boundary scoring shots. As a non-striker, he has covered around 233 km, taking his overall to approx 510km.

The batting icon was last seen playing in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series against West Indies. Although, in that match, he did not get a chance to bat. In the same tour, he also ended the overseas century drought in the second and final Test match of the series which was played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, in Trinidad.
