On Monday night, Ravindra Jadeja guided the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to capture a record-equalling fifth IPL trophy and further emphasised his value for CSK and to the fanbase. Jadeja helped CSK achieve the IPL 2023 by hitting two consecutive boundaries on the last two balls of the match. Jadeja rushed across the pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium to express his joy after scoring the winning runs towards the fine leg area. After the game-winning play, CSK captain MS Dhoni could also be seen raising Jadeja into the air in his arms. 

Before that, despite losing the toss as well as being invited to bat first, Gujarat Titans hammered a massive 214/4 in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan contributed significantly to his team's record-breaking score by scoring 96 runs off just 47 balls. A half-century was also scored by Wriddhiman Saha. But shortly after the second inning began, rain forced a halt to the game. 

After the rain stopped and the match was about to begin, CSK had been given a target of 171 runs to reach in 15 overs, and they accomplished to secure their fifth IPL championship. When CSK needed 10 runs off of 2 balls to win, Ravindra Jadeja smacked a six and a four off Mohit Sharma to win CSK the title from the jaws of defeat. Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, and Ruturaj Gaikwad all made contributions with their hits and their knocks were crucial for taking CSK over the line at the end of the game.

Ravindra Jadeja, the match-winner for the Chennai Super Kings last night took to social media to express his joy and emotions towards his skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He posted a picture with Dhoni and the IPL trophy along with the caption, “We did it for ONE and ONLY “MS DHONI.🏆 mahi bhai aapke liye toh kuch bhi…❤️❤️”

The Indian All-rounder also dedicated this win to MS Dhoni as he spoke to the media during the post-match presentation. He said, “I'd like to say a big congratulations to the CSK fans who came to support us. I'd like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK side, MS Dhoni."
