'Yeh har match ko last over Tak jaana zaroori hai kya' - Fans react as Gujarat Titans go past Punjab Kings in another last-over thriller of IPL 2023

Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans also locked horns in the 18^th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. Both teams played this match at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday, the 13^th of April. Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya won the flip of the coin and decided to bowl first against the Kings.

Batting first, Punjab Kings posted a total of 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first 20 overs of the match which the Titans chased down with one ball to spare in the last over of the match.

The fans were also thrilled after another last-over thriller in the IPL 2023; they immediately took to Twitter and came up with a lot of interesting reactions for both Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.

Speaking of the action of the match, Matthew Short played a crucial knock of 36 runs off 24 balls with six boundaries and a six to his name. Other than that, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma also scored 25 runs alongside 22 runs each by Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan. These knocks helped Punjab to pile up a respectable total of 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

The veteran right-arm pacer Mohit Sharma scalped two crucial wickets for Gujarat Titans in the first innings alongside one wicket each taken by his fellow mates who bowled.

While chasing the target, the opening pair of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill provided a strong start of 48 runs for the first wicket in GT’s favour. Saha scored 30 runs off 19 balls with five boundaries. Whereas Gill kept on playing till the last over and contributed with an amazing knock of 67 runs off 49 balls with seven boundaries and a six on his credit.

Eventually, Rahul Tewatia finished the match with a four for the defending champions to win by six wickets and register the third win in the tournament.
