In the meantime, Rinku Singh's mind-boggling finish earned him the Player of the Match award, as he helped KKR seal a last-ball victory with 5 consecutive sixes! The 25-year-old smashed an unbeaten 48-run knock to help KKR cross the finish line after Venkatesh Iyer smashed 83 from 40 balls and skipper Nitish Rana contributed 45 from 29 balls.

Rashid Khan collected the first hat-trick of IPL 2023, taking the wickets of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur, just as it appeared that KKR was returning to the game. Earlier, Vijay Shankar hit three sixes in the final over of Gujarat Titans' inning, taking Shardul to the cleaners as the defending champions scored 204 runs.

Following the game, the Knight Riders released an emotional video of Iyer reacting to the team's victory while speaking with Rinku and stand-in captain Nitish Rana. "Bhaiya, kaise ho? (How are you, brother?) God's plan!" Rinku could be heard saying on the video call to Shreyas, to which KKR's first-team skipper replied, “Rinku bhaiya zindabad (Long live Rinku!).”
