'Ye red card kya hota hai?' - Fans react as Sunil Narine gets a red card in CPL 2023

In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023, Trinbago Knight Riders defeated St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots by six wickets to earn their first victory.  Following a bowling masterclass from Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine, the Trinbago Knight Riders chose to field first. The St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots were able to reach a score of 178-5 thanks to an outstanding 66-run partnership between stand-in captain Sherfane Rutherford and Corbin Bosch.

The match had many twists and turns and many interesting moments where Pollard has been exceptional with his bat, Bravo’s magical deliveries and much more. There was a crazy incident that happened for the first time in the history of cricket. Due to slow over rate the wizard spinner Sunil Narine has got a red card for maintaining slow over rate. 

Sunil Narine found himself in an unfortunate situation during a match between the Trinbago Knight Riders and the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. As his team was penalized for maintaining a slow over-rate, Narine had to leave the field for the 20th over. This incident raises questions about sportsmanship and the importance of adhering to rules. 

Trinbago Knight Riders back in their winning ways

Trinbago Knight Riders had their first win in the league out of 3 games which they have played, they have lost their first two matches but by this win they will get back to the winning ways, where St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots played 6 games and yet to get points in the table. 

The captain of Trinbago Knight Riders showed his anger towards the incident of Narine getting a red card and said "To be honest, it will take away the hard work everyone has done," he said. "We are like the pawns and we are going to do what we are told. "We are going to play as fast as we can. If you are penalized for 30-45 seconds in a tournament like this, it is absolutely ridiculous." 

Trinbago Knight Riders will play their next game against Barbados Royals who were with the same points on the points table, both teams will be hoping for a win and jump in the points table. match starts 4:30 am IST on 31st  August 2023.

As we seen it's routine in T20's to complete overs in time, this is best practice to punish the team. So they will be complete match on tine.

As a fan, this is good. Often players and team takes too much time to complete the game and they don't value the audience's time. I hope ICC and even IPL develop such strict rules so that the game will always finish on time.
