India vs Pakistan cricket matches is always considered a topic of discussion in the world of cricket. Recently, Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Khan made a big disclosure about an altercation with Virat Kohli during the 2015 World Cup match. Pakistan pacer claims MS Dhoni told Virat Kohli to back off after sledging attempt in World Cup.

Sohail said that Virat Kohli tried to intimidate him during the match. Sohail took 5 for 55 in that match, which included the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Suresh Raina, Dhoni, and Ajinkya Rahane. Pakistan bowled India out for 300/7, but could only muster 224 in the chase.

“Virat came. He said to me ‘Aap cricket mein abhi aaye hain. And itni baatein karte ho (You’ve just arrived and you speak so much). I was a Test cricketer back then. I had played Test matches in 2006-07. Then in between I endured a troubled knee which forced me out of action. I said ‘Beta jab tu Under-19 khel raha tha na, tera baap Test cricketer tha‘ (Son, when you were playing Under-19 for India, your father was a Test player). That’s how I said it. Then if you see carefully, Misbah intervened and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet,” Sohail said on the Nadir Ali Podcast.

In the same conversation, Sohail further added, “Then if you see carefully, Misbah intervened and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet. Then MS Dhoni also came and told Kohli ‘Side pe ho ja, ye purana chawal hai, tu nahi jaanta isko. (Back down. He has been around for a long time. You don’t know him). Kohli then went and stood in one corner.”

India went on to win that Pool B match by 76 runs. The+y were beaten by eventual champions and hosts Australia in the semi-final. Pakistan, on the other hand, had failed to qualify for the semi-finals. Kohli scored a century in that match and played a big role in the Indian team achieving a big total in the first innings.
