CSK faces PBKS in the 41st match of the IPL 2023 on April 30th at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. It was billed as a mouthwatering clash between 4th and 6th-placed teams both of whom need to make a permanent place in the top 4.

There have been rumours of MS Dhoni taking retirement from IPL after this season which has brought fans in droves whenever CSK travel to. Just last week the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was filled with fans in yellow to support the World Cup winner.

In the previous game against KKR, Eden Gardens saw a similar phenomenon as even KKR fans donned the yellow jersey as a support to the mercurial captain.

Given the love Dhoni is receiving all around the country, many expected the Chapauk to be filled to the brim with fans when CSK came to town for an IPL clash. Reality however was very different. As the camera panned across the stands, it showed a partially empty Chepauk Stadium in the early stages of the match.

Soon social media users began trolling the CSK fans for the empty stadiums. A user by the name Guindy Ajax wrote, "Yesterday Saturday afternoon match Eden was full with purple, CSK match everyone gave tribute to Dhoni's last match. Meanwhile CSK home ground on Sunday. One of the worst in India."

CSK vs PBKS match:

As for the match, CSK got to a great start as both openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave a great start to CSK. Gaikwad was the first to go after making 37 off 31 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. Conway was the star of the inning as he hit 92 off 52 with 16 fours and 1 six.

MS Dhoni came in the last over and entertained fans with 2 back to back sixes on Sam Curran. CSK were able to make 200/4 on the scoreboard which seems like a good total on the pitch.
