The Day 1 of the first Test match between West Indies and India in Dominica ended in India’s favour as the visitors showed continued their dominance against the Windies. After winning the toss, West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite opted to bat first bat. However, West Indies couldn’t take the advantage and were bowled for just 150 runs in 64.3 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin was India’s main man as he took a five-wicket haul.
West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Ashwin first struck by sending Tagenarine Chanderpaul back to the pavilion at the score of 31 runs in 12.5 overs. A few overs later, Ashwin struck again as he tricked Brathwaite to give India a second breakthrough at the score of 38 runs. After that, Raymon Reifer got out cheaply by Shardul Thakur followed by the diving catch by the debutant wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan.
Yashasvi Jaiswal finally made his India debut
After regular wickets, Alick Athanaze took charge of the Caribbean innings as he turned out to be the top scorer for the hosts. Athanaze got out after scoring 47 runs off 99 balls hitting six fours and a maximum. However, as Athanaze took on the Indian bowlers, wickets were still falling from the other end at regular intervals. At last, West Indies were bowled at a score of 150 on Day 1. Ashwin scalped 5 wickets by conceding 60 runs in 24.3 overs. Ravindra Jadeja put 3 in his bag, while Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur took a wicket each.
Coming to bat in their first innings, India scored 80 runs without any loss by the end of Day 1 in 23 overs, with the skipper Rohit Sharma and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease. Jaiswal has been looking in great touch on his India debut as he is unbeaten on 40 runs off 73 balls hitting six boundaries. On the other hand, Rohit is batting on 30 runs from 65 balls with three fours and a six. India are currently trailing by 70 runs from West Indies' first innings total with all 10 wickets in hand.

5/60 upon his return to Test cricket - he was dropped in the WTC Final, but makes a strong comeback.
Doesn’t matter he still won’t be part of the next WTC Final.

To give coverage to this LKG level series is epic.
Complete dominance by India?
🤣🤣🤣🤣, as if in SENA.
A meaningless Paytm series in WI.
Fans, don't get carried away by these results.
Test wins in SENA, ICC wins matter. Rest all, snatching ice cream from a baby
The Windies bowling looks very lethargic and ordinary. It seems they have already thrown in the towel so quickly. India should make around 450-500. This wicket is very good for batting. Windies batters didn't apply themselves at all barring Althanaze.
