The Asia Cup has recently gained a reputation as an "injuries tournament." In recent years, it seems that most team players are getting injured during the competition. This alarming trend raises concerns about player safety and the impact on team performance.

One possible reason for the increasing number of injuries could be the intense schedule of matches. The Asia Cup is known for its packed itinerary, with teams playing multiple matches in a short span of time. This grueling schedule puts immense physical strain on players, increasing their susceptibility to injuries. Moreover, players often have limited time for rest and recovery between matches, further exacerbating the risk.

The Asia Cup 2023's first day brought a big blow to Bangladesh as it was announced that top wicket keeper-batter Litton Das will miss the entire competition. Due to his inability to recuperate from a viral fever, Litton has been ruled out from the 2023 Asia Cup. He is not traveling with the team for the first match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

Fans have responded to this on social media by saying that the Asia Cup should be renamed the Injury Cup because the majority of players from all sides are suffering injuries. Fans have also begun to question the players' and management's fitness levels in light of the upcoming Asia Cup World Cup. The absence of one of Bangladesh's best batsmen in action hurt the fans as well.
